Anna, a girl with ichthyosis, or fish-scale skin, travels to a remote island community in search of a cure. There she humorously bonds with other “freaks” – blind Cookie, emotionally damaged Jake, and incurable geek Skunk. After a radical treatment, Anna transforms from ‘fish’ to ‘dish’ but her dream-come-true turns into a nightmare. At the risk of destroying everything she loves, Anna must discover a way back to her own true face.
